Mann left the store at 2:06 p.m. with a fountain drink in one hand and a big plastic store bag full of ice and other things he had bought in the other.
Mann is said to have taken an Uber after leaving the store. Before his phone went off at 2:15, the emergency alert system in the Uber app sent a text message to 911 that said “In Uber grey.”
Mann never got home, and no one has ever seen or heard from him again.
A few days later, his family and coworkers who hadn’t heard from him asked the police to check on him at his apartment. However, Beau Mann was nowhere to be found.
On December 4, 2021, Mann’s assistant called the Los Angeles Police Department to report that Mann was missing.
Investigation of Case
The Los Angeles Police Department says that Beau Mann’s phone number sent a 911 text message on the afternoon he went missing. They tried to get in touch with him several times, but he never replied.
The Uber driver told the police that Mann was dropped off at his apartment, but surveillance cameras didn’t show him that afternoon, and there was no proof that he ever got there.
The Uber app showed that Mann was “dropped off” at 2:35 p.m. on Berkeley Street, which is in a residential part of Santa Monica, California. On that day, nobody told Uber about anything.
