Meghan Amanda Marohn was born to Bill and Ellen Marohn on July 9, 1979. She grew up in Delmar, New York, with her three older brothers and one older sister.
Marohn went to high school at the Academy of the Holy Names. She got her Bachelor of Arts from Russell Sage College and her Master of Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Marohn was living in her home town of Delmar, New York, when she went missing. She worked at Shaker High School in Latham, New York, as an English teacher.
Marohn worked as a volunteer for non-profit news organisations like Democracy Now! and the Sanctuary for Independent Media. He was an environmental activist.

Details of Disappearance
Marohn drove from Delmar, New York, where she grew up, to Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on March 24, 2022.
Marohn checked into the Red Lion Inn hotel when he arrived. Her family and friends think she was feeling sad and wanted to get away at the time.
Marohn called her brother on March 26, 2022, and told him she was in her room reading a book and eating a bowl of soup.
Marohn’s car, a black 2017 Subaru Impreza, was found abandoned on Church Street at around noon on March 27, 2022. A Lee, Massachusetts, resident found it in a parking lot near Janet Longcope Park, which is 46 acres and has hiking trails.
She was supposed to leave her hotel room on March 30, 2022, but Marohn never went home and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
When her family couldn’t get in touch with her on March 29, 2022, they became worried and filed a missing persons report with the Bethlehem New York Police Department.
At the same time, the Lee Police Department was told that Marohn’s abandoned car had been sitting in the same spot for two days.
Investigation of Case
The police found some clothes, a pair of shoes, and a small box of film CDs in her car. The keys to her car were missing when it was found unlocked.
On March 27, 2022, her cell phone rang in a rural neighbourhood across Church Street from the Longcope trailhead. At about 3:00 pm, the signal went out.
On March 29, 2022, authorities conducted an extensive search of a two square-mile area, including Longcope Park and nearby areas off Church Street, with the help of helicopters, drones, and K9 units, but no trace of Meghan Marohn was found.
Remains Believed to Belong to Meghan Found
On September 1, 2022, Meghan Marohn’s body parts were found in the town of Lee, Massachusetts.
Someone else found the body parts in a wooded area near Fox Drive, not far from where police found Marohn’s unattended car after she went missing.
The Massachusetts State Police, as well as police in New York and the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, are still looking into her disappearance.
