Background of Tyler Christensen
On June 2, 1999, Tyler Joel Christensen was born. He was homeschooled and has four sisters.
Tyler, who was described as creative and hardworking, spent his free time making wood furniture and art, hiking, and riding motorcycles.
Tyler had no history of running away, nor did he have a history of mental illness.
Disappearance

Tyler Christensen was last seen at 6:30 p.m. in Edmonds, Washington, in the 5300 block of Picnic Point Road.
He walked away from home, telling his family he was going to a youth group meeting at the Spring of Life church, which is located in the 4700 block of 116th Street SW in Mukilteo, about a mile away.
Tyler did not show up for church that evening and has not been heard from since.
His family reported him missing at 3:15 a.m. on April 20, 2016.
Investigation of Case
Tyler’s disappearance was initially considered as suspicious by authorities, especially given his strong ties to his family and church. They now believe he made plans to flee and fled on his own.
Tyler was last seen heading west, the opposite direction of his church, according to evidence. Investigators believe he took a ferry that night from Edmonds to Kingston, Washington.
Tyler was last seen by a man who picked him up hitchhiking on the night he went missing. Tyler appeared upbeat, according to the man, asking for directions to Shelton and discussing his plans to go hiking in the Olympics. Tyler was dropped off between Poulsbo and Silverdale, according to the man.
Tyler’s backpack was discovered by the High Steel Bridge near Shelton in Mason County, Washington, in May of 2016. There was food, sweatpants, a few emergency blankets, and a ferry ticket inside.
Tyler’s family set up a Facebook page called Help Find Tyler and has been posting updates since his disappearance.
Whereabouts
Tyler Christensen’s whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance are unknown.
Investigators believe he left on his own, taking the Edmonds-Kingston ferry on the night he went missing. His case is still unsolved.
Appearance

Physical Description:
On June 2, 1999, a white male was born. Tyler is 5’11” tall, weighs 145 pounds, and has light brown hair and blue eyes. Tyler had a buzz cut when he went missing, and he has a half-inch scar on his left ankle.
Clothing & Accessories:
Tyler was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt and dark blue shorts.
