Background

On June 1, 1996, Madeline Jane Kingsbury was born. She has two children, ages five and two.

In 2019, Kingsbury earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Winona State University. She was a Master of Public Health student at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.

Kingsbury was living in Winona, Minnesota, with her two children and their father, Adam Fravel, at the time of her disappearance. She worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as a clinical research coordinator.

Kingsbury and Fravel were no longer in a relationship, and she was in the process of moving out of the house they shared. She wished to remain in the Winona area so that her children could be close to their father.

Disappearance

Madeline Kingsbury was last seen on March 31, 2023, at her home in Winona, Minnesota.

Kingsbury and Fravel dropped their children off at daycare shortly after 8:00 a.m. and returned home. She replied to a funny picture in a text message to her sister at 8:15 a.m.

Fravel reportedly left home around 10:00 a.m. to run errands in Kingsbury’s usual van, a dark blue 2014 Chrysler Town and Country, but when he returned later that day, Kingsbury was nowhere to be found.

Madeline Kingsbury did not arrive at work that morning and has not been heard from since. She didn’t pick up her kids from daycare or make any other plans that afternoon.

When her family was unable to contact her, they filed a missing person’s report with the Winona Police Department that evening.

Investigation

Authorities discovered no evidence that Kingsbury fled on foot or in another vehicle. She forgot to bring her wallet, cellphone, identification, and the jacket she was wearing that morning.

On March 31, 2023, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., a blue van matching the couple’s vehicle description was captured on surveillance camera traveling along County Road 12 and Highway 43 in Winona County, and later in the eastern part of Filmore County.

Authorities are requesting that residents of Winona and eastern Filmore counties check their properties and cameras for any signs of a blue van passing through or stopping along the Highway 43 corridor between 8:00 a.m. on March 31 and 4:00 p.m. on April 1, 2023.

Authorities have not named a person of interest or suspect in Madeline Kingsbury’s disappearance, but foul play is suspected.

Whereabouts

The investigation into Madeleine Kingsbury’s disappearance is still ongoing. A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the discovery of Madeline.
