Julian Sands was born in Yorkshire, England on January 4, 1958. He is wed and the father of three children.
Sands attended the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and began his career with supporting roles in British motion pictures. He moved to Hollywood in 1985 to pursue a career in American cinema.
Sands has performed in more than 150 films and television shows throughout the course of his career, but his appearances in A Room with a View, The Killing Fields, and Naked Lunch among his most well-known.
Between 1984 to 1987, Sands was married to British journalist Sarah Harvey, with whom he shares a son. He married the American novelist and journalist Evgenia Citkowitz in 1990, and the pair has two daughters.

Disappearance
Julian Sands went hiking alone to Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles, California, on January 13, 2023.
When Julian Sands didn’t come home by 7:30 pm, his wife reported him missing to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigation of Case
Julian’s cell phone sent its last signal on January 15, 2023, from a spot on the Baldy Bowl trail, which goes up 3,900 feet over 4.5 miles to the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Authorities used drones and helicopters to search the area, but avalanche risks, dangerous rail conditions, and bad weather slowed down the search.
On January 18, 2023, Julian’s car was found covered in snow in a parking lot. This is likely where he left it before going on his hike.
Authorities told hikers to stay away from that area and said that Search and Rescue teams had been called to Mount Baldy and the area around it 14 times in the last month, with two hikers dying after falling.
Authorities are also looking for Bob Gregory, who is 61 years old and from Hawthorne. He hasn’t been seen since January 18 near Crystal Lake in the San Gabriel Mountains.
On January 24, authorities found Jin Chung, a hiker who had been reported missing two days earlier from Mount Baldy.
On January 25, it was said that the search for Julian would only be done from the air.
