Background of Keeslyn Roberts
On October 22, 1999, Keeslyn Noelle Roberts was born to Shannon and Eric Roberts. She grew up in the Georgia city of Dalton and went to high school there.
In March 2018, Roberts was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of marijuana, use of communication facilities in drug transactions, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and possession and use of drug-related objects.
Her family says that Roberts got in with the wrong crowd and started doing drugs. It was said that she was getting her life back on track and that she had been meeting with her probation officer regularly.
Roberts was living with her boyfriend in Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia, when she went missing.
Disappearance
In connection with her 2018 arrest, Keeslyn Roberts was supposed to meet with the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office on January 17, 2020, for a probation meeting. When Keeslyn didn’t show up, a warrant was put out for her arrest because she broke her probation.
Roberts was last seen on January 18, 2020, at a truck stop called Pilot Flying J on Resaca Beach Boulevard in Resaca, Georgia. A 911 call was made when Roberts went into the truck stop’s kitchen, which was only for employees, and was met by a store worker.
Roberts abruptly fled the scene before police officers arrived, dropping her backpack which contained her wallet, cash, debit card, driver’s license, phone charger and car keys.
Keeslyn Roberts hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Investigation of Case
On January 20, 2020, a family member found Keeslyn’s white Toyota Corolla abandoned in the parking lot of the Pilot Flying J truck stop. Most of her things were in the house, but her cell phone was missing.
In March 2020, clothes that might have belonged to Roberts were found in a bush near the trash can in the back of the Pilot Flying J parking lot.
Authorities have talked to a lot of people about Keeslyn’s disappearance, but no information has been made public about these talks.
Missing Chatsworth man found dead in Gordon County, Georgia
Caleb Nathaniel Smith, 21, also from Chatsworth, went missing from the same truck stop on January 16, 2020, just two days before Keeslyn Roberts went missing.
Caleb Nathaniel Smith’s body was found in a wooded, marshy area near Sugar Valley in the northwest corner of Gordon County, Georgia, on February 2, 2020.
Although there’s been speculation that the cases are related, authorities found no evidence showing that Caleb Smith and Keeslyn Roberts were acquainted, nor that their disappearance were connected.
Whereabouts
Keeslyn Roberts went missing, but the police couldn’t find any proof, means, or reasons to think that she was hurt. Her family is offering a reward of $50,000 for information that helps find Keeslyn.
