At the time of his disappearance, Boehm was temporarily residing with his family on Victory Drive in Marshall, Texas, at the home of his best friend Coley Briggs. He was childless and unmarried, but had a girlfriend.
According to his family, Boehm experienced blackouts and was taking antidepressants.
Disappearance
Fredrick Joseph Boehm was last seen on January 25, 2001 at the home of a friend in Marshall, Texas. His friend’s family, including his friend’s girlfriend, their children, and his visiting mother, were all present.
Boehm was dressed and ready for bed that evening when he received an unexpected phone call between 11 p.m. and midnight from an unidentified caller on his home phone.
After the phone call, Boehm changed his clothes and departed on foot, heading west along Victory Drive toward downtown Marshall. On his way out, he informed his friend’s girlfriend who was standing on the porch that he would return the following morning.
Fredrick Joseph Boehm never returned to his home and has not been seen or heard from since.
When she learned that Boehm had been missing for over a week, his sister, Jolene Oney, filed a missing person’s report with the Marshall Police Department on February 3, 2001.
Investigation

Two individuals reported seeing a man matching Boehm’s description walking around Marshall shortly after his disappearance, but these sightings have never been confirmed.
