23 year old Shawn Dickerson was last seen in San Francisco, California on December 2, 2011. He disappeared after leaving his house, telling his roommates he was late for work.
Background of Shawn Dickerson
Shawn Tyler Dickerson was born in Ceres, California, on November 11, 1988, to mother Trisha Brucker. His father died in a motorcycle accident when he was two years old. Dickerson graduated from Modesto High School. He moved to San Francisco after graduation, where he frequently rented or crashed at his friends’ apartments.
Dickerson moved into an apartment on 22nd Street and Bartlett Street in 2011, where he shared a room with five other people, including Anjul Droll, a close friend whom he dated for two years in high school.
Dickerson began working at Rolo, a men’s clothing store on Market Street in San Francisco, California, about a month before his disappearance. He was reportedly saving money to move to New York with Droll, which he had visited in the summer of 2010.
Dickerson was a member of Feie, a local band that performed around town, and he played the keyboard.
Details of Disapperance
Dickerson went to work at Rolo’s on December 1, 2011, and later met with his boss for a work review. He received his paycheck in cash because he did not have a bank account.
Dickerson left the store for lunch and returned home around 1:00 p.m. His boss became concerned later that afternoon when he did not return to finish his shift. As a result, he left several unanswered messages on his phone.
At 11:30 p.m., Dickerson finally responded to apologise, but his boss informed him that he would be fired if he could not be counted on to return to work. After the call with his boss, he stayed up until 4:00 a.m. talking with two of his roommates.
Dickerson awoke at 11:00 a.m. on December 2, 2011, and left quickly, telling his roommates he was running late for work. He was last seen leaving his apartment on Bartlett and 22nd Street at 11:30 a.m.
Dickerson did not show up for work that day and has not been heard from since.
When his friends and family couldn’t reach him, they filed a missing persons report with the San Francisco Police Department on December 6, 2011.
Investigation of Case
Authorities discovered that Dickerson went for a walk instead of going to work on the day of his disappearance, taking photos with his smartphone of his feet, the Bay, and a meal he had.
Dickerson uploaded sixteen photos to his Facebook account at 4:02 p.m. Prior to his disappearance, he changed his name to Klaus Agnes, the names of two artists he admires.
Dickerson left behind all his personal belongings inside his room, including his clothes, sunglasses, and an extra set of keys. He had lost his identification a month before he went missing.
Since his disappearance, there has been no activity on his phone or social media. On the day he went missing, Dickerson called a neighbour who lived nearby as he walked back to his apartment around 1:14 a.m.
Despite the fact that Dickerson was never diagnosed with a mental disorder, his family and friends reported that he had a tendency to disconnect from reality and might have autism or Asperger’s syndrome.

There was no evidence, means, or motive for foul play in Shawn Dickerson’s disappearance, according to police. He is considered a voluntarily missing adult.
