Details of Disappearance
Morgan Bauer left her hometown of Aberdeen, South Dakota, on February 12, 2016. She was driven by a friend to Minneapolis, Minnesota, from where she flew to Atlanta, Georgia.
Morgan stayed the night at the home of a man she met on Craigslist upon her arrival in Atlanta. She had agreed to perform housework in exchange for rent until she found employment.
On her second day in Atlanta, these arrangements fell through, and Morgan was asked to leave. Morgan spent the next few days in Gainesville, Georgia, moving between various motels and working as an exotic dancer at a strip club.
Morgan applied for a job at Tease, an Atlanta, Georgia strip club on Cheshire Bridge Road, on February 25, 2016.
Morgan was last seen on February 27, 2016 at a Citgo gas station located at 3251 Highway 278 in Covington, Georgia.
Since then, Morgan has not been seen or heard from.
When she was unable to reach her daughter on March 12, 2016, her mother filed a missing persons report with the Atlanta Police Department.
Investigation of Case
After leaving South Dakota, Morgan Bauer remained in close contact with her friends and family and posted frequently on social media until February 25. Her phone record and social media accounts have been inactive since she vanished. Since then, her phone has died or been turned off.
On February 27, 2016, Morgan’s phone sent its last signal to a location in Porterdale, Georgia, where a coworker and her boyfriend resided.
When questioned by authorities, the couple stated that on February 27, they dropped off Morgan at a Citgo gas station in Covington, Georgia, where she was last seen entering a green Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Morgan and the coworker had both applied for a position at Tease on the same day, and Morgan reportedly offered to pay for the Atlanta-required Adult Entertainment License for exotic dancers.
Whereabouts
The police found no evidence, means, or motive for foul play in the disappearance of Morgan Bauer. Her mother is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Morgan’s recovery.
The circumstances surrounding Morgan Bauer’s disappearance are currently unknown, and she is classified as missing. Her case is still unresolved.
