Disappearance of Micheal Kroll

Micheal was last seen on October 16, 2021 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He was last seen leaving the Humane Society Thrift Store at 5:15 p.m., and his last known contact was via text later that evening.

Micheal was reported missing later that evening after failing to show up for his scheduled work shift on October 19, 2021. On October 21, 2021, he was officially declared missing by the Pagosa Police Department.

Micheal may require medical attention.

Investigation

Micheal’s 7-year-old service dog Bernie was discovered wandering around a gas station in Bayfield, Colorado, without its service vest or halter on October 17, 2021.

Micheal walked his service dog everywhere and refused to be separated from him.

Micheal’s cell phone was discovered by construction workers on the side of Highway 160 near Chimney Rock on October 18, 2021, about 40 miles from where his dog was discovered.

When Micheal didn’t show up for work on October 19, his house was searched, but he was nowhere to be found. Inside were his personal belongings, including his hiking gear. It is unknown whether his bicycle has been found.

Pagosa Springs Police Department searches, assisted by Upper San Juan Search and Rescue, Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southern Ute Ranger Division, have yielded no new information about Micheal’s whereabouts.

On October 24, 2021, a thorough search of Highway 160, CO 151, and the Capote Lake area was conducted, but no new information was discovered.

Micheal Kroll’s whereabouts and circumstances surrounding his disappearance are unknown.

Micheal’s family members say he would never abandon his service dog Bernie and are concerned for his safety.

Appearance

On July 20, 1980, a Caucasian male was born. Micheal is 5’10, weighs 130 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Micheal had long hair and a moustache at the time of his disappearance.

He has two round scars on his upper chest, one on his forehead, and several on his nose.

Micheal has a “MAD” tattoo on the back of his left shoulder, with the Mad Hatter hat atop the letter “M.”
