Madalina Cojocari
Madalina Cojocari, who is 11 years old, has been missing for almost a month, and no one knows where she is. Because her mother and stepfather didn’t tell the police for almost three weeks, they are now in jail for not reporting the child’s disappearance.
There is no way to explain how a mother could go through life without telling anyone that her own child had gone missing. In the past, like with Casey Anthony, we’ve seen that mothers can do things that are hard to believe. Reports say that Madalina Cojocari was last seen near her Cornelius, North Carolina, home on November 23, 2022, at 10:30 p.m.
No Contact with the Authorities for Three Weeks
The 11-year-old girl had not been seen or heard from in almost three weeks when the Cornelius Police Department found out about it. On December 14, 2022, Madalina’s mother and stepfather told the school’s resource officer that their daughter had gone missing and asked him to look into it.
In turn, the police department got this report and sent it to the FBI so that they could look into it further. Even so, not much is known about why Madalina’s parents told the school about her disappearance instead of calling the police. Not much is known about why they took so long to do this, either.
On December 15, 2022, the FBI, the Cornelius Police Department, and the State Bureau of Investigation began looking into where Madalina went. There was a public announcement about how she had gone missing.

Mother and Stepfather Arrested
As a result of the Cornelius Police Department’s investigation, Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, 37, and her stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, 60, were arrested and charged with not reporting Madalina’s disappearance on December 17, 2022.
So, both were taken to the Mecklenburg County Detention Center and put in jail. On Monday, December 19, 2022, Palmiter went to court. The amount of his bond was $200,000.00. On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, Diana Cojocari will have a hearing about her bond.
Diana Cojocari and Christopher Palmiter haven’t told police anything about where the missing child might be. Palmiter hasn’t said why the couple waited so long to report Madalina’s disappearance, but Diana Cojocari said that making a report “might start a fight” with her husband.
Where is Madalina Cojocari?
Due to the search for Madalina, the Cornelius Police Department decided that on December 19, 2022, a search of Lake Cornelius should be done as part of the search. There is no information about what the authorities have found in Lake Cornelius or why they think the girl may be there.
The Cornelius Fire Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are also looking for the sixth grader along with the FBI. When she went missing, she was wearing jeans, a plain white T-shirt, pink, purple, and white Adidas shoes, and a jacket.
At the moment, the child is said to be about 4 feet 10 inches tall, weigh about 90 pounds, and have brown hair and eyes.
