Karlie Lain Guse Disappearance
Karlie Lain Guse, a 16-year-old female at the time, was reported missing by her family on October 13, 2018. Karlie was last seen by her family on October 13, 2018, at their home in the White Mountain Estates area of Chalfant Valley in Mono County, California. Karlie left the family home in the early morning, most likely wearing grey sweatpants or jeans, a white t-shirt, and Vans brand shoes. Karlie left her personal belongings at the house, including her phone.

Karlie was last seen walking south on the morning of October 13, 2018, about 30 yards east of Highway 6 and 100 yards south of Sierra View Road. Karlie has not been in contact with family or friends since she went missing, despite a thorough search of the area and subsequent investigation. This is the last sighting of her; she has never been heard from again.
Karlie returned home from an evening out with friends the night before her disappearance and admitted to her parents that she had smoked marijuana. She appeared anxious and paranoid, and her final text to her boyfriend stated that the marijuana was laced. It’s possible she was still disoriented from the drug’s effects when she went missing.
Karlie had only recently moved to Chalfant with her father and stepmother, and she has relatives in Yerington, Nevada, 160 miles away. Her biological mother believes Karlie overdosed the night she went missing, while her stepmother believes she was kidnapped.
Due to a lack of evidence of a crime, her case is being investigated as a simple missing person.
