Kandi Green Gonzalez was born in Paintsville, Kentucky, in December 1984 to Betty Jo and David Dixon.

Gonzalez earned a Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork certification from Lexington Healing Arts Academy in Lexington, Kentucky in 2009. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Spencerian College in 2011.

Gonzalez was a licensed massage therapist who worked for herself at the time of her disappearance. She shared a home in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, with her longtime partner, Jeff Blackburn.

Gonzalez has a five year old son whom she shared custody with her ex-husband.

Disappearance Details

Gonzalez’s two-year boyfriend, Jeff Blackburn, kicked her out of the house they shared on the afternoon of June 1, 2021.

Gonzalez then wandered less than a half-mile from her house into the backyard of a house on Abbott Creek Road. Someone on the property recorded her pleading for assistance and requesting that people call her mother while she was visibly upset and lost.

Gonzalez walked back and forth before eventually running through the backyard and into a creek when calls to her mother’s phone went straight to voicemail.

Gonzalez didn’t come back, and no one has ever heard from him again. She was only wearing a pink one-piece romper and sandals when she vanished, leaving behind neither any personal belongings nor her cellphone.

Gonzalez’s family was unable to reach her, so on June 2, 2021, they reported her missing to the Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post.

Investigation

Gonzalez’s shoes were discovered in a nearby creek by her family after she went missing.

Authorities searched the creek area where Kandi Green Gonzalez was last seen with helicopters, drones, tracking and cadaver dogs, but found no trace of her.

Whereabouts

Kandi Green Gonzalez’s disappearance was investigated by police, but no evidence, means, or motive for foul play were discovered. The investigation is still ongoing, but there are currently no promising leads.
