The property where 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was discovered dead in the basement in 1996 is for sale for nearly $7 million.
Wednesday, LIV Sotheby’s Intl Realty posted the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home on Zillow.
The day after Christmas, Ramsey’s mother, Patsy, discovered a ransom note, and her father, John, discovered her body in their home in Boulder, Colorado, on the same day. This drew international attention.
Only the pageant queen’s mother, father, and 9-year-old sibling resided in the home at the time of her passing. Police investigated Ramsey’s family for years as possible suspects before apologising to them and clearing their names in the investigation.
The authorities discovered the DNA of a man unrelated to Ramsey’s family, but the case remains unsolved.
The realtor describes the home as a “stately and modernised 1920s Tudor estate” situated on a little more than a quarter acre of land and measuring more than 7,500 square feet. The listing, which depicts snow-covered photographs of the home, has already been viewed over 26,000 times and saved over 800 times.
According to Zillow’s records, the Ramseys sold the property in 1998 for $650,000. According to the Denver Post, the home’s address was altered in 2001 and privacy gates were installed to prevent nosy neighbours from peering inside.
