A father is devastated and worried about the future of his grandchildren after their mother was killed last month in Bolingbrook while pushing her stalled vehicle.
Bob Cawthon said , “This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me.”
Back on February 22, his 30-year-old daughter Jenna Cawthon of Bolingbrook was on her way to work when her vehicle broke down at 107th Street and Joliet Road.
Bob Cawthon stated, “She was a “can do” person, so she attempted to push her car out of the way.” “A good Samaritan observed and exclaimed, ‘She needs assistance!'”
According to a police report Cawthon viewed, the witness made a U-turn, exited his vehicle, and was crossing the street to assist when Jenna Cawthon was struck and killed from behind.
Her father, who currently resides near Pittsburgh, received the dreaded phone call.
“‘Your daughter has passed.’ I was like, ‘What?’” Bob Cawthon said. “It was a shock.”
He stated that his thoughts then turned to his grandkids, 4-year-old Devyn and 13-year-old Donovan.
The boys were not in the vehicle, but they must now deal with their mother’s death.

“She had enough insurance to handle burial costs, but there’s not a lot,” Bob Cawthon said. “You do not think you’re going to die when you’re 30.”
Bob Cawthon has created a GoFundMe account to ensure the boys’ well-being now that their father has custody of them.
As of Wednesday afternoon, approximately $9,000 has been raised.
