On November 26, 1995, David McAllister was born to parents Marilyn and Jeff McAllister. He has two brothers and lived in Bettenforf, Iowa, with his parents at the time of his disappearance.
David absolutely loved camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. He was a roofer at the time of his disappearance.
David began substance abuse treatment in 2015. Following treatment, he embarked on a cross-country journey, walking and hitchhiking through Kansas, Arizona, and Colorado before returning home in December 2016.
The Disappearance of David
David McAllister was last seen on May 11, 2017 at his home in Bettendorf, Iowa. He texted his mother at 4:00 a.m., telling her he wasn’t going to work that day and that he needed some space. He left early that morning, telling his father he’d return later that evening. He left the house with his phone, bible, and a black backpack.
When his mother returned home from work and noticed he was missing, she texted him. She inquired as to his well-being, and he replied that he was out walking, thinking, and spreading the Word.
David didn’t respond to texts or phone calls that afternoon and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. His mother reported him missing about two weeks after her last contact with him.
Investigation of Disappearance
David is thought to have been dropped off at Jungy Park in Davenport, Iowa on the day he went missing. He hasn’t contacted his family since he went missing, which is unusual for him.
The last ping of David’s phone was traced to St. Ambrose tower, near Vander Veer or Garfield Park, at 12:00 p.m. on the day he vanished.
David may have been experiencing personal issues at the time of his disappearance. It is not known if McAllister relapsed before his disappearance, but his family says he was putting in an effort to recover.
Whereabouts
The location of David McAllister, as well as the circumstances regarding his disappearance, remain unknown. His case is currently classified as missing and remains unsolved.
Appearance Details
On November 26, 1995, a Caucasian male was born. David is 5’9″ tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was wearing a black shirt, jeans, and black Converse sneakers when he was last seen.
David has several tattoos, including “Stay” on the inside of his right elbow, “True” on the inside of his left elbow, a small anarchy symbol between his thumb and forefinger on his right hand, a smiley face between his thumb and forefinger on his left hand, “Beer” on the left side of his chest, a row of five stars on the right side of his chest, a peace sign on his back, the yin yang symbol.
David walks with a limp on his right ankle, and has several scars from BMX riding.
