Nearly two weeks after the Michigan men went missing, the search led authorities to find three dead bodies in an abandoned apartment complex.
Three people who wanted to be rappers were last seen in Detroit on Thursday. Their bodies were found in an abandoned Highland Park apartment complex.
WJBK says that almost two weeks after Armani “Marley Whoop” Kelly, 38, Montoya “Givings,” 31, and Dante “B12” Wicker, 31, went missing on the night of their cancelled Jan. 21 show at Lounge 31, police think they have found them.
People asked the Detroit Police Department for a comment, but they didn’t answer right away.
When “multiple victims” were found in a building at the corner of McNichols and Log Cabin, Michigan State Police tweeted about what was going on there.
“Detectives are still looking into what happened, and it’s likely that they’ll be there all night,” MSP said. “As of right now, we don’t know the names of any of the people who died inside or how they died.”
MSP said that the victims have not yet been named, but Givens’ mother, Cat Fogle, told The Detroit News that police told her Thursday afternoon that her son had died.
Fogel said, “They told me they found the three bodies.” “I don’t know what I’ll do; I don’t know how I’ll bury him.”
The News said that Kelly told his fiancee Taylor Perrin that the Lounge show was cancelled because of a problem with the equipment and that he was going to meet up with friends and do some open mic shows.
Perrin said that he stopped answering messages around 7:30 pm. A previous WJBK report said that by the next morning, none of their three phones could send data.
Kelly’s mother, Lorrie Kemp, told police he was missing on January 23. She was able to find her son’s car in Warren with the help of OnStar. When the families of Givens and Wicker saw the news story four days later, they saw that all three men knew each other.
“I just want help, any kind of help. I need answers and, if necessary, closure, because I won’t forget and I won’t give up “Perrin told WJBK that Kelly was working, going to school, and working on his rap career while he was getting over being arrested for robbery.
Kemp noted in a post on Sunday that her son met Givens and Wicker in the Department of Corrections while calling out law enforcement’s response to their disappearance.
She wrote, “Yes, these young men were in DOC, but they didn’t deserve this.” “Shame on you, Detroit. Shame on the police. Shame on the whole state. If only one police department had listened, we might not be here now.”
A source for The News said that the bodies were found after police raided a house on Wednesday and brought in a person of interest. It’s not clear if the person of interest gave the information that led to the bodies being found.
